Motion control, developing with all the relative technology development, is mainly used to control motor. With rapid development in the technology of the PC, "Motion controller + PC" has been one of the main development trends of current motion technology. Motion controller has been wildly used in industry, because it is structurally open, multi-functional, easy to use, highly stable and so on.In line with the project "the development of high speed and high precision Aoke flatbed cutter" and with our research based on motion control technology, the paper analyzes the project's need and develops the four axes motion controller based on PCI bus. The motion controller uses PCI9052 as the specified PCI interface chip, PCL5023 to control the motion, and Windriver as the driver development toolkit. The motion controller had been successfully used on controlling the motor.The dissertation has given a research on the structure of the software and hardware in cutter's control system, analyzed their modules' function and the flow chart of the system software.After studying the characteristics of PCI bus and the two schemes of realizing the PCI communication, geared to the need of the project, we decide to use the PCI9052 as the specified PCI interface chip. With a deeper study on the use of PCI9052 in detail, the paper has worked out the data in PCI configuration registers and analyzed the problems worth of our attention in using PCI9052.The dissertation introduces the functions and the usage of PCL5023, giving out the points to be taken notice of in using the PCL5023. After that we analyze the anti-interference design of motion controller.The dissertation has expounded the concept of device driver, and studied the module , the characteristics and the structure of WDM driver. After studying the characteristics of the three schemes of toolkit to develop the driver and analyzing the need of the project, we decide to use Windriver as the development toolkit. We explain the structure of Windriver, and make deep research into the developmentprocess of device driver. After that, we have set up the frame structure of device driver, explaining the way to develop driver % distribute driver and installation combined the usage of PCL5023.The debugging of the motion controller shows that the hardware design of motion controller is rational. We use the driver function to develop the debugging software. With the application on Aoke cutter, we have tested the validity and the performance of the driver of the motion controller. The test shows that the motion controller can reach the desired effect by effectively controlling the work of the motors.
