The technologies of virtual design and virtual assembly have been developed quickly in recent years. The assembly simulation of the parts relationship that most researchers concerned so far is the geometry information of the parts. Generally, this simulation is called virtual assembly based on geometry models. However, it is necessary to consider the interaction force between every two parts in the assembly process, which is called physical simulation of virtual assembly, so that the assembly characters of the product is revealed truly, which can be used to guild the product design.This thesis comes from the project"The Key Technologies on Virtual Prototype of the Reflector Antenna". The assembly process of shell structure is studied and simulated, which is one of the most typical structures of reflector of reflector antenna. The applications of shell structure in automobile, airplane and electronic device, especially radar antenna, is summarized. The analysis methods of shell structure can be classified as static analysis and dynamic analysis. Based on the theory of large deflection buckling of shell structure, the finite element method to solve the critical force of buckling of flat is studied. The finite element model of reflector element is established. Under conditions of existing dimension errors, the external force required to perform assembly is analyzed and obtained. It is put forward that the maximal dimension error of the flat buckling deformation as a criteria to verify the flat manufactured. Three kinds of assembly sequences of the flat with four assemble screws are simulated. The effects of different assemble sequences on the final assemble deformation are studied. By comparing the maximal deformation in Z direction and the transverse shearing stress of the four screws, and the final shape of the flat of different assemble sequences, the best assemble sequence is obtained.
