Cast iron material is an important means of production for processing castings needed in key industries such as national defense,military industry,energy,automobile,ship and so on.Therefore,the development and application of high-quality cast iron material directly affects the national economic development and relate to the strategic position of the country.The quality of cast iron melt is an important factor affecting the solidification structure and mechanical properties of cast iron.Therefore,it is important to study how to characterize,evaluate and control the quality of cast iron melt for improving the casting quality.Firstly,the development status and trend of foundry thermal analysis technology at home and abroad are analyzed,and the theory of expert system and expert database is briefly summarized.Based on the principle of expert system and the traditional thermal analysis technology used to evaluate the melt quality of cast iron,a control scheme for the quality of cast iron melt in the casting workshop was designed.The design work mainly includes the design of software and hardware structure of expert system,the establishment and maintenance of expert database,and the test and verification of the system.The expert system of iron melt quality control establishes a relational data relationship between the cooling curve of each package of molten iron and its corresponding chemical composition,mechanical properties and metallographic structure through the data acquisition terminal,thus gradually establishing the expert database.With the gradual improvement of the expert data,the expert data can be compared in the production site.According to the cooling curve comparison algorithm,the chemical composition,mechanical properties and metallographic structure of the molten iron to be measured can be predicted,and the secondary inoculation amount,alloy compensation amount can be inferred,and the performance indexes of the castings can be corrected.The test results show that each module of the expert system works well,and the data comparison results show that the system has high accuracy in detecting the creep rate and composition parameters of cast iron melt.
