With the development of society and civilization as well as living standard increasing, higher and higher requirements on the environment friendly and household cleaning were set by people. Micro-fiber cleaning cloth is a new kind of industrial textiles, which had been received great attention since 20th century. Its superiority properties make it extensive used in our daily life and industrial application.In this paper, the properties of 7 micro-fiber cleaning cloths and a cotton cloth were studied, and the splitting condition of polyester/polyamide conjugated fiber knitted fabric was also studied with orthogonal design.The most important effect for cleaning cloths is adsorption performance, which contains the dust adsorption, water adsorption and the adsorption of static electricity. Meanwhile, the air permeability, drying rate and wear resistance behaviors were also affect the using of cleaning cloths. In our study, firstly, seven kinds of different structures of micro-fiber knitted and woven cleaning cloths were selected and their properties were test and studied to make the contrast with that of cotton cleaning cloth, and a simple model was built to investigate the dust absorption amount with the value of fiber surface area. Good correlation ship was obtained between the theory value and test data. Then, a overall judgment was made using gray cluster analysis, it gets a conclusion that the cleaning performance of micro-fiber wiping cloths was much better than that of cotton-fiber wiping cloth, this is most likely due to the high surface area and the fineness of micro fiber. So micro-fiber cloths are good alternative for conventional cloth.At the same time, the splitting technological process of alcohol reduction was investigated by experiment. In this study, polyester/polyamide conjugated fiber grey knitted fabric was selected, and the test under different parameters (processing times, processing temperatures and solution concentrations of alkaline hydrolysis) were carrying out according the orthogonal design. The splitting ratio, weight loss (%), the thickness and air permeability resistance of fabric were test and studied by analysis of variance individually. Optimum splitting condition was investigated for superior behaviors. The conclusion was comes as following:(l).The best splitting condition is 70°C processing temperature, 30g/l of the concentration of alkaline hydrolysis solution, and 40min processing time, with the weight loss 12.29% and splitting ratio 32.3% of the fabrics.(2). The most important variable affecting the splitting condition is the concentration of alkaline hydrolysis solution;and the processing temperature followed, the effect of processing time on the split is not much remarkable in this experiment.Graduate Student Qinxiao (Textile) Supervised by Prof. Wang Qiumei...
