The organotin complexes have been of great interest for many years because of theirversatile bonding modes and their industrial and agricultural applications. And someorganotin complexes are established for use as fungicides, biocides and pesticides. In thisthesis, four new organotin complexes were synthesized which are [(Bu2Sn)2O(EtO)(L1)]2 (1),[(Bu2Sn)2O(EtO)(L2)]2(2), [(Bu2Sn)2O(EtO)(L3)]2 (3) and [Ph3Sn(L4)]·0.5H2O (4).Thecrystal structures were determined by X-ray single crystal deffraction method. The complexes 1-3 were obtained by the reactions of Bu2SnO with4-phenylideneamino-3-methyl-1,2,4-triazole-5-thione (HL1), 4-furfuralideneamino -3-methyl-1,2,4-triazole-5-thione(HL2), 4-(2-thienylideneamino)-3-ethyl-1,2,4 -triazole-5-thione (HL3).Complexes 1, 2 and 3 show similar structures containing a Sn4O4 ladder skeleton in whicheach of the exo tin atoms is bonded to the N atom of a corresponding thione-formdeprotonated ligand and show a five-coordinate trigonal bipyramidal geometry. For everyendo Sn center, there is weak interaction between another N atom on the triazole ring and theendo tin atom. So the endo Sn atom can be regarded as a six-coordinate center, showingdistorted octahedral geometry. The ligand of HL3 differs from HL1 and HL2 in having anethyl group not methyl group on the triazole ring and having a thienyl group on thesubstituted amino group, meanwhile there are two kinds of 3 molecules in the crystal structure. The structures of these two molecules are almost the same with slight differences in bondlengths and bond angles. And compounds 1-3 are the first examples of this type containingamido and ethoxide groups.Complex 4 was obtained by the reaction of Ph3SnOH with4-(3,5-di-t-butylsalicylideneamino)-3-ethyl-1,2,4 -triazole-5-thione (HL4). In contrast tocompounds 1-3, L4-anion exists in thiol form in 4, and coordinates to tin atom through thethiol S atom not the nitrogen atom on the triazole ring. The tin atom shows a distortedtetrahedral geometry.
