The amount of hydrogen sulfide and total sulphide compounds in thenatural gas is an important quantity index, the examination of it must be accurate.Along with the increasing demand for the energy, the development and theapplication of the natural gas is becoming more and more vast. In the meanwhile, because of the strong corrosion and high poison, sulphide compounds affect thequality of natural gas. It is a significant work to determine the structure anddistribution of sulphide compounds, which is good for the development, exploitation and application.Currently, the amount of hydrogen sulfide and total sulphide compoundscan be analyzed, however the exact structure of sulphide compounds is difficultto be determined. Only the structure of hydrogen sulfide can be examined byusing the method of the iodine measurement, but the measurement process isvery trivial and the results aren't accurate. A more efficient examination methodis to react with lead acetic ester according to it's responding in the double lightdetector, the hydrogen sulfide can be measured at ppm level. The total amount ofsulphide compounds usually be measured by the oxidize tiny coulomb method, and the method according to the decomposing velocity of hydrogen. There is afew report about the analysis of the sulphide compounds, especially for themonatomic sulphur in natural gas.It is a good method to analysis the structure and content of sulphidecompounds in natural gas by using GC, although several problem is notdissolved such as that: sulphide compounds with low molecular weight will beabsorbed in the examination system when it was injecting in GC, another one isthe detector will make an error responding for the hydrocarbon compounds andthe sulphide compounds. In order to resolving these problems, analytical columnmust be appropriate for examining and analytical conditions can give an exactresult.Main research results of this work is as follow:1. Choosing the best examining condition to determine the structure andamount of sulphide compounds by using of the pulsed-flame photometricdetector, we can obtain excellent results, good selectivity and intelligent levels ofthe detector for the examination.2. The gas injector as using to determine in silicon hydrocarbon system isapplied for examining the sulphide compounds.3. The column HP-PLOT Q with a big size and thick films is chosen to use fordissolving the problem of the separation of hydrocarbon and sulphidecompounds. The best GC examining condition is also determined in this work.In this work, we build up a set of examination method to determine thestructure and amount of hydrogen sulfide and total sulphide compounds innatural gas by using plused-flame photometric detector.
