Object Studying the optimun extracting procedure of Chinese medicinal materials in Compound Herba Centellae Capsules and the appropriate conditions to separate the extracts and incluse the essential oil so as to provide a reasonable, available and stable manufacture process for the research and development of new drugs. Methods Study is the prerequisit for knowing the spices and origins of Chinese medicinal materials.Based on literature report and pharmacodynamic study,Asiaticoside in Herba Centellae and Astragaloside IV in Radix Astragali which are both easily dissolved in water and diluted ethanol, can inhibit KFB proliferation, delay adhension, decrease the sinking of glomerulus mesentery IgGand C3 in proliferation nephritis in rabbits, relieve proteinuria, and postpone the progress from chronic kidney disease to nephrosclerosis ;Essential oil of Angelica Sinensis is easily distillated by water steam and can dissolve in lipophilic solutions;Ferulic acid is easily dissolved in water and diluted ethanol but is unstable in solution. It can decrease renal tubular interstitial damage and keep the normal function of kidney. In the light of physico-chemical characteristics of active constituents and dosage requirements,pre-tests and designs have been made for medicinal materials in the prescription. The orthogonal experimental designs were used, with Asiaticoside and Astragaloside IV as indexes respectively ,to optimize the most appropriate conditions for reluxing total saponins from Herba Centellae and Radix Astragali and separating the extracts by macroporous resin. The orthogonal experimental designs were...
