Friction wheel is a important part of the hoist equipment. To convenient for machining and provide a more reasonable structure and intensity, it is very necessary to use advanced means to analyze and design the structure of fiction hoist machine. This paper studies the intensity of friction wheel in detail, taking the friction wheel of tower friction hoist with four ropes produced by CITIC Heavy Machinery Inc. in LuoYang as the model. The paper introduces the structure characteristics of the friction wheel, labors the force-loading status of the wheel. Based on this, a finite element model of the wheel is built. Then using software ANSYS, the paper makes a thorough research on stress and strain of the wheel which is under normal working condition. At one time, considering different structure, it analyzes the intensity of friction wheel of dissimilar structure, summarizes a rule of intensity which influenced by different structure. The finite element model of friction wheel is built directly in software ANSYS. To enhance precision of result and reduce the workload , the finite model is established as the half of entity. The paper makes a thorough and detailed analysis of the intensity that friction wheel is at normal working state. By analyzing its nephogram of stress and strain, the paper draws some conclusions which are distributing rules, not only about stress and strain on the entity, but also about the displacement graphs of circumferential and axial are made. Moreover, the intensity of friction wheel under different work conditions are analyzed, including the conditions being subjected to the biggest static tension function and being subjected to the broken-out function, including the conditions when supporting rings are set and not set, the conditions when use different shell thickness, different supporting ring thickness and different supporting wheel thickness. By contrasting the calculation result, the paper affirms the factors which influence strength of friction wheel. These factors include shell thickness, setting or not setting supporting ring, as well as the thickness of supporting...
