Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) is a kind of functional polymer of material. Because of its distinctive water-absorbing and water-preserving properties,SAP have been used for water-keeping and water-saving in agriculture, forestry, horticulture, etc. Absorbing performance, anti-salt performance, absorbing rate, absorbing keeping are important indexes for SAP. So researching high anti-salt performance, quick absorbing rate, high absorbing keeping performance have become important direction for scientific workers.According to the principle of the free radicals graft copolymerization, SAP was prepared by graft copolymerizing between starch and partly neutralized acrylic acid. The technical conditions of the synthesizing process were systematically studied by ways of signal fator analysis experiments, which included ratio of starch and acrylic acid, neutralized degree of acrylic acid, dosage of initiator, dosage of cross linker, reacting temperature and the infection of these conditions on the absorbing performance and anti-salt performance of SAP. The optimum technical conditions were determined. For improve Anti-salt performance, absorbing rate, absorbing keeping, adding clay during initial stages of polymerization. Select kaolin for research object. And the application properties of the composite products were contrastively studied. Such as water-absorbing, anti-salt performance, absorbing rate,water-preserving, thermal stability and the surface configuration.In this paper, Super Absorbent Polymer was prepared from graft copolymer of starch and acrylic acid by solution. The best technics conditions by optimize are determined ,in which the mol ratio monomer of starch and acrylic was 15:85,the neutralization degree of acrylic acid was 80%, the crosslinking and initiator agent were 0.13% and 0.45%, the temperature of polymerization was 65℃. The best absorbability of super absorbent in water and salt-water was 545g/g and 85 g/g. The time needed by super absorbent get to saturation was 120min.
