With the development of the plastic industry, more and more high accuracy and performance plastic gears are employed in duplicating machines, cameras, timers and other sophisticated products. Because the demands of dimensional precision, form and position tolerance are very high and the profile error caused by the shrinkage after molding also must be considered, to design a set of gear injection mold is a task full of difficulty, high-tech and heaviness. It is hard to design and manufacture injection molds purely relying on the experience and craft in a short time by the traditional design means. On the other hand, engineers usually feel that the work is identical and repeated in designing the products of high serialization, unification and standardization such as gears and mold bases.
