High precision, high performance plastic gear widely used in household electric appliance product and the automobile industry. Gear in the dimension precision, form and position tolerances, etc when the demand is higher, and molding needs to consider such factors for shrinkage gear-shape error, Therefore, the design of gear injection mold is a difficult, high technical content, working onerous task. The traditional design method in the short term difficult to achieve the high quality mould design. In the process of injection mold design, many parts need to design, repeatability, repeatedly.In this paper, Widows XP operating system in UG software, combining for support platform Moldflow mold flow analysis software, using UG OPEN with object-oriented GRIP language design idea generated three-dimensional parts parametric model, and through the UG/OPEN Tools such as MenuScript, User Tools developed dynamic man-machine interface, eventually developed a set of gears injection mold CAD system. System interface keep and UG software system consistent style. And the system adopts full localization interface, and using the menu and rich dialog, makes such interface form is marked, suitable for tips mould design personnel used in the practical work of need.According to the structure characteristics of gear plastic parts, this paper analyses and compares the injection mold part of the advantages and disadvantages of various structural forms, optimize the injection mold structure to determine the gears injection mold CAD system overall framework.System uses Grip language developed injection mold standard GB library, 3D model model gears plastics parametric design module and its corresponding injection mould parts parametric design module. Mainly to solve the plastic parts and injection mould in gear parts design module to implement the automatic drawing technical problems, mainly completed the standard gb library, gear plastics injection molding parts design module and the development of design module. The gear plastics and realize the automatic drawing injection molding parts.The trial, this system friendly interface, simple operation, graphics generation speed. Using this system will simplify injection mold design process and reduce the design work, improve the design efficiency and achieve the expected objectives, has great practical value. This research is to 3D CAD system under the environment of the development of gear injection mold, a discussion of research and development of other categories of mould CAD system also has certain theoretical significance.
