| Drawing press is a kind of press especially used for the sheet metals drawing. Multi-linkage mechanism was widely used for transmission mechanism of inner and outer slide in modern drawing press. The slide of multi-linkage mechanism has a longer ram displacement and lower forming speed, can accomplish the drawing operation well. As the working mechanism of drawing press, the multi-linkage mechanism is the key part of drawing press, its design level can directly affect the functions of the operating mechanism. Furthermore, the performance of the press such as the efficiency, working quality can be influenced indirectly. Based on the optimization method and the computer program design, mechanism optimization design is an effective method to solve the complex design problem. During the period of product design, the kinematical analysis can examine the validity and the rationality of the inner/outer slide operating mechanism. Furthermore, the optimal selection of the whole design can be carried out through the kinematical analysis. Then, the construction and function of the product can be more perfect. Therefore, the optimization design and kinematical analysis of multi-linkage have become the important contents of press design.Based on the above analysis, the kinematical analysis and optimization design of multi-linkage of press operating mechanism are studied in this paper. The current research situation of the press optimization design and kinematical analysis is reviewed also. Taking power-bar linkage and outer slide ten-bar linkage as examples, the general mathematical expressions of the whole motion process are established and the reasonable methods of optimization about linkage are explored and selected. The optimization design and the computation of the motion performance parameters of the linkage are carried out.
