In order to meet the need of economic development for large-specification roll of steel plates, technical improvements have been carried out in the hot-rolling mill. The six sets of high pressure water pump, which cannot provide high enough speed of water supply for rolling, is replaced using three sets of high pressure centrifugal pump. The working mode of three sets of high pressure centrifugal pumps is that two pumps work and another one is spare. After the project has been carried out other problems emerge, for example, the electromotor becoming very heat and the pump being frequently attainted. Although a great deal of work in fixing equipment, adjusting precision, daily examining and repairing, controlling process have been done and many achievements have been obtained, there are still several problems such as the equipments operate at an overload and the energy consumption keeps high. As a result, it severely affects the safe working of the equipments. How to take particular measures to reduce the energy consumption and ensure surface quality of the rolling product becomes a chief task. The technology of using high pressure water to descale and carry out innovation on saving energy is studied by this paper. These innovations result in satisfying effect and preferable economy benefit.This paper consists of following parts:(1) Analyze working character of the pump, study methods of saving energy on pump, find out energy transferring tache of the system and establish principles of saving energy on descaling system of high pressure water.(2) Analyze reasons of the continuous high energy consumption in the descaling system of high pressure water, which provide gist for the purposeful reconstruction for saving energy.(3) Introduce the theory of high pressure water descaling, study the relationship between ejecting water's pressure of the nozzle and the effect of descaling and then propose method for reconstruction of saving energy.(4) Analyze the working condition of each descaling spot in the high pressure water descaling system, calculate the least water we need, confirm the redundant water of each descaling spot and design the project of saving energy basing on the relationship between the ejecting water and descaling effect of rolling billet.(5) Carry out innovation of saving energy on high pressure water system.
