Geometry model and generation of cutter path are two key technologies for NC machining. In the two technologies, geometry model is the base for calculating cutter path and the accuracyof NC machining only depends on the rational cutter path. The appropriate planning of cutterpath not only direct influence stock-removing efficiency, machining quality and machining cost of parts but also influence the dynamic performance of machine tool and operating life of cutter. At present, the tool- path is currently determined through the man-machine interactive way which excessively depends on engineer's experiences but not the automatic realization. This paper aims at the efficiency of the processing and establishment the time model of the cutter, which provides the theory basis and lays the foundation for the further step for the automatic optimization of the direction of the cutter's movement.Based on the need of actual production, the paper firstly discussed the choice of the parameter in the numerical control processing craft, and introduced the way to optimize the parameter using heredity algorithm.Next, this paper discussed the theory and methods of the establishment of the tool-path in plane outline processing from the practical angel. And it processed the solution to the problems of establishment of the cutting tools'path that exist in the numerical milling operation control .In the end, the dissertation studies the feed pattern of free surface deeply, the linear feed pattern is emphasis.Aiming at high machining efficiency, the mathematical model of time is founded on the base of accelerate or decelerate of changing line and smooth speed in the course of machining. the theory basis and lays the foundation for the automatic optimization of the direction of the cutter's movement.
