With the rapid development of modern science and technology, high speed, high precision and high efficiency have become the most important trend of current die-cutting machine as important equipment in printing industry. Die-cutting mechanism is the core part of automatic die-cutting machine. The mechanical function will directly affect the working ability and manufacturing quality, which makes it necessary to analyze kinematics and dynamics and sets a solid basis for later improvement and design. The thesis puts forward a method, which combines the finite element method and the dynamic static theory. Firstly, the structure analysis of the die-cutting mechanics is finished so as to know the composing of the mainframe and the working principle. Based on the structure analysis, a kinematics model representing the bar mechanism is built and the nonlinear system of equations is solved through the method of data analysis by the software Mat lab. Meanwhile, the angular displacement, angular velocity, angular acceleration and the corresponding curves of each component in a motion period are obtained. As the precision is high and the calculation is quick, this method is suitable for platen die-cutting engineering.Secondly, dynamics analysis is performed without taking account of the nonlinear factors, e.g., friction and the analysis about force of each joint point is put forward. The geometry models of all components of the bar mechanism are built by using the software Pro/Engineer to obtain the calculated mass and inertia of these components. All the systemic and academic analysis supplies the direction for the in-depth research and design.Thirdly, improper design of die-cutters may cause serious structural bug and stress concentration. So it's necessary to strengthen these parts and it is important to investigate the stress distribution of the key components. By using finite element technology and the ANSYS software, the finite models are built up and the visual and intuitionistic stress diagrams are obtained. The study results indicate that the best ribs are applicable to the lessening of the stress concentration.
