Technical Study On The Al-Si Alloy Cylinder Cast In Continuous Casting

The continuous casting equipment for nonferrous metal cylinder cast has been manufactured according to a design that put forward by ourselves and obtain national patent ,the cylinder casts that produced by continuous casting equipment have complex inner structure .The inner structure of the cast depends on the sand core and the eternal structure depends on the crystallizer ,it's a new production method including continuous casting and traditional casting .By means of this continuous casting equipment and ZL114 alloy ,the target of experiment is examine combination properties of sand core and find out the effective continuous casting method .The experimental result indicates :No-bake sand core which is made of alkalescent PF resins can reach to the combination properties in the continuous casting experiment ,but the sand core can't resist high temperature bake in the long time ;The pouring method is very important in the continuous casting experiment .The problem that the cast is locked up has been settled by adopting a method of heating runner bush ,but a new problem comes out–tension fracture ,the reason for the tension fracture is that the crystallizer's height is overtop ,consequently it causes a high resisting force in the movement of the cast ;Fluid level that keeps in the bound of the graphite bush's altitude is very important to trouble-free operation in the continuous casting ;The method of short crystallize combination of graphite bush is feasible and elementary continuous casting has come true .It's very important that the inwall of crystallize should adopt large-coefficient of heat conductivity material .The preferable processing parameter is :point of pouring is 700-720℃,pulling rate is 300-400mm/min ,this method sets a good foundation to future experiment ;The cylinder casts have high surface quality ,without draw and shrinkage porosity ,and the crystal grains are fine and homogeneous .
