The Research Of Chemistry In Context: Applying Chemistry In Society Based On The Science Literacy

In the world,the textbook 《Chemistry in context:applying chemistry in society》 is very famous for its aim of "increase students' science literacy",its compilation mode of "applying chemistry in society" and its content selection based on "need-to-know".Thus,to carefully study this textbook will help us well dealing with Chinese Chemical textbook's compilation.To achieve this purpose,we used document research and case analysis methods to study this textbook.This study is divided into 5 parts.The first one is the backgroud study,and we learned what is science literacy and what's its actuality;In the second part,we studied the different edition of this textbook and its service conditon;we researched the textbook's content selection,content struction and so on;In the fourth part,we learned how to design students' activities surrounding exploration.And in the last part,we gave ourselves suggestions to the compilation of Chinese chemical textbook.According to the study of this textbook,we found that all its topic are focus on the hot spots of society,all the activities need to explore.Though this, students can study chemistry while solving the problem in society,this can not only make chemistry more closer to society,but also increase the science literacy of the students.Therefore,we think that in our compilation of Chinese chemical textbook,we should draw its advanced experience.That means we should pay more attention to the selection of content and values of the students,and we should focus on developing all the skills of students.
