Based on the National Natural Science Foundation of China—"Research about some key techniques of dynamic optimization of the machine tool structure"and the key project of"Tenth of Five Year Plan"of Jiangsu Province—"Dynamic optimization design of a gantry style five-axis machining center", the paper mainly did stimulation and optimal design of a new type gantry style five-axis machining center. The research objects covered the CAD/CAE modeling of the whole machine center and its main components, and identified the parameters of trail interfaces by modal test method and component analysis approach. According to the test result, the multi-body dynamic model of the machining tool was constructed, and was made dynamic simulation. Through making experiment compare the simulation result, the accuracy of the model was verified. Then modifying the parameters of trail interfaces and making repetitious simulation, the characteristic curves of the parameters of trail interfaces was gotten. Based on the curves, choosing optimal characteristic parameter then the machining tool of XH2725 was optimized. The innovation achievements of this thesis are as the follows:1. Making experiment to test the characteristic of trail interfaces and using modal component analysis approach to get the characteristic parameters of XH2725.2. Based on the constraint modal synthesis, constructing the modal neutral file that also named flexible body3. Stimulating the XH2725 dynamic model with one type of part been flexible, comparing the main parts'contribution to the vibration of machining tool.4. Stimulating the model of XH2725, getting the characteristic curves of the parameters of trail interfaces, choosing the appropriate parameters to optimized the machining tool.
