Polysilicone has been widely used in weather resistance, solution resistance, high and low temperature resistance, high hydrophobicity property and high air permeability property. Polysilicone is used to improve the properties of other synthetic resins. This is of great significance in both polysilicone and synthetic resins industry. So recent years more and more people do the researches about modifying synthetic with polysilicone. Acrylate resin has many good properties, such as excellent adhesive character, mechanical charact- er, chemical stability, rich material and low cost. But it is sensitive to temperature, it has poor hydrophobicity property and solution resistance. So modified by polysilicone , acrylate resin's properties can be improved.In this paper, two methods, physical blends and chemical modification, were used to modify acrylate resin by polysilicone.Acrylate monomer ratio was computed by Fox equation which was used to design the glass temperature (theoretical value) of acrylate resin. Acrylate resin's properties were discussed and analysed. The result showed that acrylate resin had the best properties when Tg=25℃.Polysilicone was prepared by hydrolytic polymerization of γ -Methacryoxypropytri methoxysilane(KH-570) in condition of catalyzer. FTIR was used to determinant the structure of product. The effects of hydrolytic time on the capacity of products were studied. According to the analysis of their properties, the product whose hydrolytic time was 9h met demand.Polysilicone and acrylate resin were blended uniformly. The compatibility of blends was researched using SEM. The best proportion and effect of physical blends was discussed from the analysis of their properties. The result showed that, when the content of polysilicone was 8%, polysilicone can uniformly disperse into acrylate resin.
