Salvia miltiorrhiza is a traditional Chinese medicine using widely. Today, its preparation plays an important role in people's health. The research of the modern pharmacology shows that the bioactive ingredient of Salvianolic Acid(Sal) especially Salvianolic Acid B (Sal B) has notable curative effect. So it is important to build an effective way to extraction Salvia miltiorrhiza for producing its preparations. In this paper, cellulose was used in the application of extraction Sal B and total Sals. Salvia miltiorrhiza sect and powder were used as material in the experiments. After comparison of the extraction rates of Sal B (mainly from the traditional boiling-water extraction method and the Enzymatic extraction), it suggests that effect of enzymatic extraction is better than other separation methods like traditional boiling-water extraction. But the effect of enzymatic extraction is not so obvious for total Sals by comparison of the extraction rates of total Sals. The orthogonal design with factors of extraction time, temperature, pH value and the quantity of enzyme and the single factor design were used to analyze. The best separation technology was obtained to separate soluble bioactive products by enzymatic extraction. At the same time, an effective HPLC standard was build to analyze the water extraction directly and it has a good separation result for each ingredient. Furthermore, the difference was studied between the separation of Sal B by enzyme extraction and boiling-water extraction. The best extraction conditions were found as follows: enzyme concentration, 15U cellulase per gram medical materials; temperature, 50℃; pH value, 4.5; time of enzymatic extraction, 6h; heating-inactivation, filtration; time of boiling-water extraction, 50min.It showed that the enzymatic extraction of Sal-A B had a notable advantage over the traditional boiling-water extraction.
