The gas transition pipeline is progressed oriented the large-scale and complicated network system. Therefore, the study of optimization of gas gathering pipe network has actual significance.Based on large quantities of literature investigated and studied, this paper systematically expatiates the development history and present application of the system optimization of gas gathering pipe network. It makes a thorough research on system topological optimization of gas gathering pipe network and the optimization of configuration parameter. Based on different development phase in gas field, it finally forms gas field gathering system taking aid at pipe network investment and provides optimized configuration model of pipe network. The model not only is the function of pipe length, but also considers the effect of pipe diameter on investment cost. It derives the topological optimization by means of the method of improved and elicited type, taboo algorithm, and edge cut method, which makes the optimization result of pipe network arrangement conform to practice better. On the basis of pipe network arrangement, it establishes configuration parameter optimization model of pipe network being calculated for total reduced charge of gathering pipe network. In this model, it substantially considers the relationship of carrying capacity, pipe diameter, gas transmission pressure, and pipe range. In the process of solving configuration parameter optimization model, it, aiming at the characteristic of problem, adopts the method of combination optimization, which is applicable to continuous and discrete variables and makes the optimization results more accurate. On the ground of the model established and derivation method, it comprehensively utilizes some computer technology, such as GUI technology, computer image, OLE technology, data base, and so on. Taking advantage of C++ Builder language, it develops and studies the software of system optimization design of gas gathering pipe network. The software has the characteristic of favorable graphical interfaces, wide applicability, convenient operation, high computational accuracy, etc. This software is successfully applied into the rebuilding and extension of gathering pipe network of gas field, in the mean time, it still applies the system optimization design of gas gathering pipe network in other gas field.
