At present, short—supplied resource and ecodoom is the crisis of the whole world. Now people are coming to realize that environment problem is the composite problem of all society. To solve this problem, we must change our old values, must get rid of the original mode of economic growth and pattern of consumption, must innovate the government decision—making mechanism, must reform tradition science and technology system. Therefore, we need an environmental revolution imminently.To build a environment—friendly society is a major strategic option for China's model of modernization. All developed countries had been relying on the traditional industrialization, with high consumption of unrenewable resources. China dose not have the social and economic environment that the industrialized countries enjoyed at the beginning of their industrialization. Its strategic resource constraints and environment challenges are sterner than any big countries in industrialization.Based on the related studies, the paper explained the backdrop,meaning and obstacle of environment—friendly society. We should inherit traditional culture of upholding frugality of the Chinese nation, study thought of ecological Marxism, reference western ecological ethics, in order to build environmental culture with China feature. On the basis of the analysis above, the paper proposed the countermeasure at the following aspects: to steadily push the circular economy; to strengthen green technological innovation capabilities, so as to provide prowerful technical support; to remove institutional obstacles and push for systematic reform, so as to improve the institutional arrangements.The building of environment—friendly society is a complicated and challenging systems that requires the guidance of a long—term development strategy and planning. If China succeed in building an environment—friendly society, it would set an example for other developing countries and make significant contribution to the human civilization. We are looking forward to working together and helping each other with people who are concerned about the human destiny to create a harmonious and sustainable future.
