H-beam with a reasonable and economic cross-section, is more convenient and economic in use compared to the ordinary I-beam, and has been widely used in steel construction and utility infrastructure and other areas. In the hot rolling process of H-beam, the interaction of flange and web plate makes the flows of metal extremely complex, the process difficult, and many problems occur easily.The numerical simulation of H-beam rolling process is a typical geometry, physics, and boundary conditions triple nonlinear dynamics. Based on large deformation and elastic-plastic-viscosity dynamics finite element theory, this paper uses the non-linear dynamic finite element software LS-DYNA to simulate the process of H-beam rolling.The paper introduces details the large deformation dynamics numerical calculation method and viscous-plastic constitutive and some of the treatments of key technical issues in solving with LS-DYNA in detail. The high-temperature stress-strain curve of H-beam material is measured by the Gleeble-1500 thermal simulator, and the corresponding mechanical parameters are obtained; Orthogonal design is used to design the F-groove and pressure statutes, and the various options under the modeling results are analyzed, and the design of optimization of the pass is raised, through which the simulation of the entire rolling process of H-beam is done, and various rolling results are analyzed.The paper makes the following conclusions: In the rolling of G-groove, rolling piece is higher, the deformation of rolling piece is not easy infiltration, central deformation of web is smaller, the width of webs is not obvious, the deformation mainly concentrates on the rolling direction; In the rolling of four pass of F-groove, the first two pass filling degrees are not very good because of no forming H-shapes, specially the flange does not contact with top and bottom roller totally. With the rolling process continuing, the filling degrees tend to be normal; For the fourth pass of F-groove, design the large number of downward pressure can not be designed larger in order to pursuit the fast rolling process. But the number of rolling road can be increased in a certain circumstance; Metal two-way exchange exists in the rolling of D-groove of H-beam, which results in the uneven strain distribution on the cross-section, and it is easy to result in the buckling section of rolling piece even waves defects if no attention is taken in the actual production.The results obtained in the paper can offer references to the improvement of H-beam rolling process, and the calculation method in the paper is the basis on the entire numerical simulation process for H-beam rolling process.
