Composite fabrics made from multi-fibers are widely used with more and more new types of fibres appeared. Certain fibers blended with polyester are so fragile to high temperature that the thermosol dyeing temperature has to be much lower than that in normal thermosol dyeing of disperse dyes. So more and more hotspots are concentrated to the research of reducing the dyeing temperature.According to the principle of 'resemble mutual dissolving', some ester or ether that have the similar structure with polyester, some anionic & non-ionic surfactants that exert the solubilization to disperse dyes are chosen and mixed in certain proportion. In the end a low-temperature thermosol dyeing auxiliariy ZNL was prepared.Quantitative and qualitative measurements about the performance of low-temperature thermosol dyeing auxiliaries ZNL is made. The results show low-temperature thermosol dyeing auxiliaries ZNL is milky emulsion, can mixed with water in any proportion. The pH value of 1% of the auxiliaries solution is 6.2, appearing neutrality. Its density is 0.99746g/L. The acid resistance and alkali resistance can reach 1~2 degree. But its storage stability isn't good because separation layer appears, so the further research is needed. The research on the thermosol dyeing performance of low-temperature auxiliaries ZNL was done by the follow methods: comparing method, stripping and dissloving method, measuring build-up of disperse dyes method, and observing method by microscope. The results show auxiliaries ZNL which can lower thermosol dyeing temperature remarkably. It makes the color depth of polyester fabric dyed at 170℃approximately same with that at 200℃dyeing. It doesn't affect the strength of fabric. The auxiliaries ZNL can greatly enhance the build-up, level dyeing and penetrating dyeing of disperse dyesThe principle of disperse dyes low-temperature thermosol dyeing auxiliaries ZNL lowering polyester thermosol dyeing temperature is analyzed by the methods of infrared absorption spectrogram and DSC analysis. The results show that auxiliaries ZNL can plasticate and swell polyester fiber, enlarge the fiber's free physical volume, lower the fiber's glass temperature Tg, increase the diffusion speed of disperse dyes in the fiber, and therefore lower the thermosol dyeing temperature. In the other hand, auxiliaries ZNL can increase the solubility of disperse dyes, enhance the dye-uptake of disperse dyes, perform the function of level dyeing and penetrating dyeing. The best dyeing composition and process of disperse dyes with low-temperature thermosol dyeing auxiliaries ZNL are determinded by orthogonal experiment. The dyeing components are disperse dyes 2~40g/L, penetrant 2~12g/L, 5% sodium alginate 2~8g/L, low-temperature thermosol dyeing auxiliaries ZNL 8~13g/L. The best process is: padding (pick-up 60%~70%)—drying (98℃, 10min)—baking (170℃, 2min),—post-treatment.
