Wetland has very important economic function. Dongting Lake plays a veryimportant role in the biodiversity maintenance, ecological environment protection andeconomic development. The stability of East Dongting Lake wetland ecological service function wasresearched by the qualitative and quantitative methods in order to understand the directand indirect value and function of the wetland ecological system. These kinds offunctions, such as the wetland ecological system can provide productions, get muchattention from people, because they can be used directly; however, for some indirectfunctions, such as floodwater adjustment, air composition regulation, biodiversitymaintenance and so on, because their value haven't been quantification ally defined, they are easy to be ignored by man. According to the assessment on the economic valueof its service function and the stability analysis, the forseeability, pertinency and overall ofprotection work can be achieved. After analyzed the values of all index of ecological servicefunction, further analyzed their stability by applied the cv and sd statistical methods, the types ofdifferent index and the stability characteristics at different periods were concluded in order tosupport the based data. In addition, the effective pathways were provided to maintain the stability ofEast Dongting Lake ecological service function.Damage the ecological e iavironment for economic development is the road fordevelopment in the past; While working to expand the economy, we also consider thevalue of service function of ecological system being damaged, and then construct agreen GDP calculate system is the only solution for sustainable development.
