Research Of Injection Mold Development Management Technology Based On PDM

With globalization of market economy and broad use of plastic products, requests forinjection mold design and manufacturing are more and more. Facing with drastic marketcompetition, CAx/DFx is widely used in mold manufacturing to improve their competitivepower. Because these computer aided technologies are all independent, effective informationthat is used and shared is lack between them, and "information isolated island" which causesdata produced in each product development phase of mold enterprises difficult to flow amongbranches is formed. At the same time, emergence and evolution of PDM (product datamanagement) meets the imperious need of mold enterprises' information management, whichbuilds on software technology and centers on product, and manages the integration of productdata, process and function. So, the implementation of PDM is significant for enterprises torealize information integration and improve their management level.In this dissertation, after the situation of mold industry, application problems of PDM andthe significance of PDM implementation for mold enterprises have been analyzed. Accordingto the characteristic of mold enterprises, system structure of PDM for injection mold based onWindchill is advanced and its functional modules are introduced. In the light of requests ofdata management for mold enterprises, a data management platform is set up to support andmaintain product information, orgnise product design, perfect mold product structure, share alot of archive data and correlative product information in design & manufacturing process intime and carry out document and product structure & configuration management for moldproduct conveniently and effectively; To realize product development process integration,process management system is built to manage the whole product lifecycle, orgnise andharmonize design checkup, change and personnel assignment in development process andfinally realize workflow, engineering change and project management of mold development;By discussing the manner and content of application integration, integrated framework is putforward and integrated scheme of PDM system for mold enterprises is advanced. And,functional integration for relative tools of mold development is realized elementarily.
