Environmental hormone is a series of important chemical substance hidden behind the white pollution that can affect human and wildlife on their normal endocrines,causing reproductive,developmental and behavioral disorder.Phthalic acid esters(PAEs)are a kind of important environmental estrogen hormone,as plasticizers in industry.Recently,massive production and use of plastic products have caused a wide distribution of PAEs into environment,and PAEs become one of the most prevalent contaminants all over the world.Phenolic compounds are also a kind of environmental hormone causing wide pollution such as bisphenol A,besides PAEs. Along with the development of fine chemicals,environment that people depend on has been polluting.Environmental hormone enters human body through breathing, diet and skin contact,which has chronic toxicity,mutagenicity and carcinogenicity role on people,reproductive and developmental toxicity concerning proliferation of interest-bearing human future generations.The international community pays much attention on this problem,and improving and developing new analytical methods is a research direction shared both environmental science and analytical science that has great significance to scientific environmental decision-making and control.A new reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric method(HPLC-ESI-MS)was developed for the determination of phthalates and phenolic compounds in this paper,making use of the effective separation of chromatography and high sensitivity of mass spectrometry to identify and quantify,which increased the reliability of the analysis method and facilitated to the determination of trace sample online.Phthalates in disposable plastic products, drink,water and immersed solution of plastics,and phenolic compounds in drink and water have been determined by this new method,and the results was satisfying.The main contents are as follows:1.First of all,physical and chemical properties,environmental behaviors and harmfulness to people of phthalates and phenolic compounds were introduced, and then recent progress of the analytical methods of them were reviewed and compared,and the necessity of developing new methods was elaborated,which this paper was based on.2.Disposable plastic products are convenient to people in daily life,which simultaneously are the main pollutant source of phthalates.A simple,rapid and sensitive reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the determination of phthalates in disposable plastic products for food wrappers.Quantitative analysis with a diode array detector and qualitative analysis with mass spectrum detection avoided false positive misjudgment.The dimethyl phthalate(DMP),diethyl phthalate(DEP),dibutyl phthalate(DBP)and dioctyl phthalate(DOP)were separated on a Lichrospher C-18 column within 20 min,eluted gradient from 70%to 100%aqueous acetonitrile at a flow-rate of 1.0 mLmin-1.The linear ranges of DMP,DEP,DBP and DOP were 1.12~89.28 mgL-1, 0.9~73.92 mgL-1,0.89~71.04 mgL-1and 0.85~68.16 mgL-1,respectively.The average recoveries of DMP,DEP,DBP and DOP were 83.2%,88.7%,85.5%, 86.9%.The method is accurate and reliable.3.Water is necessary to human's life,and drink and water resource polluted by environmental hormone threats body health.A sensitive liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric method was developed for the determination of phthalates in drink and water.The dimethyl phthalate,diethyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate and dioctyl phthalate were simultaneously separated on a Lichrospher C-18 column within 20 min,eluted gradient from 70 to 100% aqueous methanol at a flow-rate of 1.0 mLmin-1.The mass spectrometric analysis was performed by electro-spray in positive mode.Selective ion scan mode was used to quantitatively determine DMP,DEP,DBP and DOP,and the method of subsection acquisition increased sensitivity and selectivity.The linear ranges of DMP,DEP,DBP and DOP were 10.94~2734.00μgL-1,5.38~2692.00μgL-1, 9.85~2463.00μgL-1and 9.98~2494.00μgL-1,and the average recoveries were 97.1%~102.9%,94.7%~104.7%,93.3%~95.5%and 92.5%~96.3%,respectively. The RSDs were less than 2.79%.Water samples can be determined by direct Injection,and the limit of detection was lower as compared with diode array detector.This method was better than current industry standard for determining phthalates in water samples.4.In order to research phthalates' migration behavior in the contact process between people and disposable plastic products,and to warn and prevent harmfulness of environmental hormone,a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric method was developed for the determination of phthalates in immersed solution of plastics.Selective ion scan mode was used to quantitatively determine the phthalates in simulant sweat,water and ethanol-water with the method of subsection acquisition.The linear ranges of DMP,DEP,DBP and DOP were 5.12~2562.00μgL-1,5.42~2711.00μgL-1,5.46~2730.00μgL-1and 5.08~2541.00μgL-1,respectively.The RSDs were less than 3.50%.The method was suitable for the determination of wide simulating water samples.The experiment results show that phthalates in plastics can easily migrate into water and simulant sweat, especially higher organic solvent water.5.There is a great deal of phenolic compounds such as bisphenol A in water from papermaking and chemical industrial wastewater,which influence drinking water quality.A simple,rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric method was developed for the determination of m-benzenetriol,phenol and bisphenol A in drink and water.Three phenolic compounds were simultaneously separated on an Alltech C-18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm ID,5μm),with 70% aqueous methanol as mobile phase at a flow-rate of 1.0 mLmin-1.The mass spectrometric analysis was performed by electro-spray in negative mode and selective ion scan mode was used to quantitatively determine m-benzenetriol, phenol and bisphenol A.The linear ranges of m-benzenetriol,phenol and bisphenol A were 8.25~165.00μgL-1,35.45~709.00ugL(-1)and 10.84~216.80μgL-1,respectively.The RSDs were less than 3.52%.The analytical methods had some advantages with high accuracy,sensitivity,selectivity and simplicity.
