The refuse generated from railway in our country is characterized in a relatively simple component, high calorific value. It is widely concerned by the railway department in recent years. It has possessed the conditions for the development of RDF. This paper has research on the preparation of railway C-RDF. The fly ash particles emission characteristics of fuel combustion were studied.1) Railway C-RDF is made from the mixture of Beijing Mentougou coal and refuse in railway stations and trains with a steel mold under room temperature. Tests are chosen with orthogonal table L9(34). The thesis takes into consideration four main factors including moisture content, briquette pressure, coal content and particle size of the refuses, and three different levels of each factor are investigated. Dropping intensity and heating stability of the derived fuel from multiple refuse in railway stations and trains are used to assess the influence of the factors. Study results indicate that all factors do not affect the dropping intensity and heating stability of the fuel. The better parameters obtained from the study are 50 Mpa of briquette pressure, 20% of moisture, < 13mm of the particle size and 90% of coal.2) On the basis of the laboratory experiment, the industry experiment for preparation of Railway C-RDF were carried by the briquette preparation process using the mixture of Jingxi coal and refuse in railway as raw materials. The experiment results demonstrated that the results of C-RDF properties showed a reduction tendency along with the increase of the mixing refuses. The WIN-1 binder plays a very. important role in preparation of C-RDF. The study also showed that WIN-1 binder is only suitable for specific coals.3) The microstructure characteristic and elements analysis of the fly ash from combustion of railway C-RDF was conducted by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray microanalysis (EDX). The results show that the shapes of fly ash particles are multiple. Most particles are irregular. The phenomenon of particle adsorption existed among different grain sizes. Potassium was detected in all fly ash particles. This means that the primarily existent form of potassium is potassium chloride in co-combustion of biomass with coal. No heavy metals were detected in all fly ash particles.
