First, the latest research and development trend with some basic ideas, applications about hydraulic hammer were presented in the paper, after which a simulation of a type of TOKU hydraulic breaker was carried out based on MSC.ADAMS and Matlab. Then optimization about present layout and working parameter of piston was put out. The secondary development of ADAMS/View on hydraulic breaker was proceeded to realize the combination of common software and special technical expression, which would fulfill particularity design needs. At last, an experiment system was put up to test and verify the simulation results. The main research works are focused on the following aspects:1. Mathematic model of hydraulic breaker piston movement. A non-linear hydraulic breaker model was built, in which mucosity resistance and leakage was taken into account. The mass of the piston and the relative position of piston and each signal orifice were measured after a Japanese breaker three-dimensional model built in UG. Emphasizing on the movement stage, the simulation of the stroke, which had the greatest affection on impaction, was carried out, based on closed loop control, and finally, some useful conclusion that how the system oil pressure,break distance and the gap between piston and the body affected the hitting energy was put out.2. Dynamic analysis of multi-system based on ADAMS/view. A hydraulic breaker assembled solid model, including a parameterized piston built in ADAMS and a breaker body with a controlling box which was built in UG and exported into ADAMS through the parasolid file, was constrained and the load was applied on. Many measures were established as piston and valve core control signals. Some useful conclusion which would be useful for product design and betterment was put out after the simulation and optimization.3. Use gas-pressure method to test the performance of the hydraulic breaker. The reason that causes low pressure pipeline filter bottom cap and low pressure pipe broken on hydraulic breaker was researched through experiment. The movement of piston and valve core was analysis through the experiment results. It was showed that the hydraulic shock was big in both oil room without an accumulator, and in the end some helpful suggestions were given.The meaningful work which combined the process of hydraulic breaker design and Virtual Prototyping technology was successfully brought into practice. The simulation of dynamic multi-system could have a bright future in hydraulic breaker designing and betterment along with the deeper research on ADAMS secondary development and mathematic model.
