In this paper, the origin of carbon monoxide in coal seam of Donghuantuo coal mine and the sorption are discussed. The general geological situation and the carbon monoxide existing in coal mine are introduced briefly. According to the information and the facts of Donghuantuo coal mine, three explanations of carbon monoxide existing are brought forward..Based on analyzing the general geological situation and the carbon monoxide existing in coal mine and the consistence of carbon monoxide tested in the bore, two of the explanations are eliminated. So carbon monoxide existing is relation to the transformation of coal is approved.8 representative coal samples of donghuantuo coal mine which are taken from the main exploitation coal seam (the 8th coal seam, the 9th coal seam, the 11th coal seam and the 12th coal seam) are experimented on adsorbing carbon monoxide under low temperature and industry analyzing, maceral analyzing and element analyzing. 2 samples taken from linnancang coal mine and 2 taken from zhaogezhuang coal mine are experimented contrast to the 8 samples. According to the experiment dada, the difference on maceral is analyzed. So the mechanism of existing carbon monoxide is brought forward. During the decomposability of the branch of coal molecule, a great deal of the carbon monoxide creates and adsorbed mostly by coal seam. The math models relating to the quantum and kinds of main factors are designed.In this paper, the phenomenon of carbon monoxide existing in coal gas but no spontaneous combustion happened is studied briefly. Basing on the theory of spontaneous combustion, indicator gases that are agreeable to Donghuantuo coal mine have been determined. The math model relating to indicator gases and self-ignition temperature and the system of predicting spontaneous combustion are designed. The additional requires are put forward to the prediction system.In the paper, new opinions about mechanism of carbon monoxide existing in the coal bed are given, which can help in the prediction of spontaneous combustion in Donghuantuo coal mine. It's valuable to the analysis for similar coal absorbing carbon monoxide, too.
