A sort of lab methodology was established in this dissertation to make an improvement on the limitation of traditional methods. This methodology has the advantages of simple operation, short period, quantitative, wide applicability by using biological methods in the lab. Taking the typical bacteria and typical marine alga existing in the nature for the experimental objects, systematic researches were made to estimate the biological properties of new-type antifoulant, functional resin and antifouling paints.The biological properties and the mechanism of the environment-friendly antifoulant such as indole derivatives and isothiazolone derivatives were studied. Results show that the antifoulants all have nice performance , and the antibacterial activity of the indole derivatives is as follows: ClG-BP > ClG> BrG-BP > ClG-MP >BrG> BrG-MP. The order of their toxicity to Nitzschia closterium is: BrG-BPï¹¥ClG-BPï¹¥ClGï¹¥BrGï¹¥BrG-MPï¹¥ClG-MP. The antibacterial activity of the isothiazolone derivatives is as follows: BOP-DCI> PhOEOP-DCI >EOP-DCI. Isothiazolone derivatives and reference compounds all have good inhibition to Phaeodactylum tricornutum, and the order is: TBTO>BOP-DCI>PhOEOP-DCI>EOP-DCI>OIT>Kathon.The biological properties of acrylic resin and the monomers which contain capsaicin derivatives were studied. The antibacterial experiment and algae growth inhibition test show that the monomers all have certain antibacterial activity and selective inhibition of algae. Eased method was used to study the antibacterial activity of the resins, results show that they have a correlation with the structure of the monomers and their content. And the result of raft exposure tests on antifouling paints with different monomers are basically accord with the lab method's , which proves the lab rapid quantitative testing methodology are effective.Taking the Nitzschia closterium for experimental object, the algae growth inhibitory effects of seven domestic and abroad antifouling paints were dectected, using the inhibition of algae growth rate as an indicator. The results indicated that seven antifouling paints all have obvious inhibition on algae growth. The inhibitory effects have a tendency to decrease, as the marinating time extended. The paints that dipping in the algae solution have the worst inhibitory effects. The accordance of the raft exposure tests and the lab ones show that the raft exposure tests indoor is feasible.
