Since the International Maritime Organization banned the use of organotin self-polishing antifouling paints in 2008, the alternative study of non-toxic self-polishing antifouling paints has been highlighted. In this paper, We study the method of design self-polishing antifouling paint, preparation process and the synthetic route including film-forming synthetic resins for self-polishing antifouling paint. The preparation of copper antifouling paint and copper-free antifouling paint were studied. The analysis and evaluation of the performance parameters of the film-forming resin was detailed study. The evaluation of laboratory performance of the antifouling paints and the evaluation of real sea performance of the antifouling paints were developed.Two different synthetic route of antifouling paint were used to synthetic many kinds of Zinc acrylic resin,We have studied the difference of the formulation of the resin impact on the basic properties of the resin. The study of the characterization of all the resin are used by FTIR,GPC,and study on the solid content, acid value and viscosity of the acrylate polymer and IR, gel permeation chromatography all showed that the structure meets the design requirements.We used the 5L laboratory autoclave to synthetic zinc acrylate resin on order to expand experimental test, and make a detailed analysis and evaluation of the performance parameters of the expanded synthetic of zinc acrylate resin. The results showed that the expanded synthetic of zinc acrylate resin would have some impact on the performance parameters of the resin.We prepared many kinds of self-polishing antifouling paint in the laboratory,namely the copper antifouling paint used Cu2O as the main antifouling agent,the copper-free antifouling paint used organic insecticides as antifouling agent. In laboratory,we test a number of the initial performance parameters anti-fouling paint. We explored the effects on the basic performance parameters of different formulation of antifouling paints .We established rotor test testing device in the laboratory to measure polishing rate of different antifouling paints. Many antifouling paints' polishing rate were tested,We explored the impact on different self-polishing antifouling paints formulations on polishing rate .In the sea waters of Qingdao, Shandong and Zhanjiang, Guangdong.We did the raft test of the many kinds of antifouling paint, test the antifouling performance of multiple antifouling paints to explore the effect of different formulations of antifouling paints on antifouling properties. These results showed that the best content of Cu2O in antifouling paint is 40%-45% in weight.
