Paper size presorted device played a very important part in the quality of press product. It is one of the absolutely necessary parts of modern offset press. The adjustment of paper interrelated mechanisms of domestic sheet-fed offset press depend on manual, presently. And lack of control system which is widely used overseas. Through research of paper interrelated mechanisms, this paper designed a model of the automatic adjust device of the paper feed mechanism. The main contents and the innovative views are as follows:(1) The paper transmission process is analyzed. Mechanisms related to the size of paper and the methods of adjustment are indicated.(2) An automatic adjustment device of the paper feed mechanism is designed according to the basic principle of existing adjustment device. 3D model of the device is built and simulated by using Pro/ENGMEER Wildfire software. The adjustment precision achieved the design requirement.(3) Stepping motor is chosen and the control system is founded based on the designed calculation. The control interface is established by using VC software. This system could improve the speed and precision of adjustment.(4) The structure and work principle of 2-phase hybrid stepping motor is analyzed, and a nonlinear dynamic model is established. The speed and displacement controllers of stepping system are developed with PID control methods. Then emulated and analyzed the controllers by using Matlab/Simulink.Through research paper feeder mechanism, this paper designed the model of an adjustment control system of the automatic adjust device. It provided a method and reference for the research of integrated paper size presorted device.
