A very important part in the laser processing system is the research of numerical control system. The research of this part plays a decisive role to the whole system application.Based on the equipments of own library, topics on singlechip control stepping motor technologies are discussed in detail, together with computer interface control technologies, interpolation algorithm, and PC control software. All of our efforts are concentrated in one purpose—to establish a CNC system suitable for laser processing on own library. The overall frame of the numerical control system was analyzed and instituted based on its unique characteristics.Based on the stepping motor characteristics, designed a stepping motor controller for laser processing , it succeeded in driving xy spindles. To realize the figures including line and arc processing through xy spindles linkage movement , analyzing interpolation algorithms used for machining process in detail is indeed. The special point-by-point algorithm for processing was developed based on laser processing characteristics.Using the RS232 (9 pins) as serial interface can carry out the communication between computer and controller. This system adopts the binary form to transmit the data. The visual interface for control system was achieved, based on Visual B 6.0.The kernel technique is the ActiveX Automation which obtain the graph informations and the other necessary.Meanwhile, joining the necessary control messages, then forming the processing path based on CAD data file.Lastly, the laser micro processing will achieve after dowmloading the path to the MPC02 motor card or the stepping motor controller.
