In this twenty years, the mining technology has been advanced in a great speed. The exploitation technology and equipment level have been enhanced, too. Hydraulic support is the key equipment of compensative mining surface, and it's the key factor of mining successfully or not.This paper is mainly research on hydraulic support design method. The author analyses the development of hydraulic support and suggests the achievement of hydraulic support design,indicates the questions in the conventional design method, introduces the three dimensional building and whole support finite element method analysis to support design.This thesis is mainly based on ZF8500/21/40 hydraulic support. Using Pro/E soft reduces time of design greatly.Through the three dimensional model building, model predigestion, choose of finite element analyses soft, contract treatment, mesh and analysis of external load, the different boundary conditions are built.Through virtual prototype based on the three dimensional model , the cost and time is reduced greatly and the old design method has been insteaded.Through the finite element analysis of whole support, this thesis suggests the most dangerous stress intensity place of different force conditions. In conclusion, this paper has some guiding significance to advance the support design and welding technology.
