As an interchangeable parts, the involute gear has used widely in mechanical transmission. Its accuracy of manufacture and test level are relevant to the involute gear's working with stability and normal in transmission. So all various error of the gears must be controlled with effectively and detected on accuracy. With the rapid development of modern industry and science and technology, the quality request of gear manufacture has got higher and higher. The quality of gear manufacturing depend on many aspects, among them the gear surveying instrument and the level of measuring and testing techniques is the one of important factors. The technology of involute tooth profile measurement for master gear is important and difficult in its all precision indexs.The Double-disc Measuring Apparatus of Involute Tooth Profile meets the measuring principle of machinery unfolding, which has the characteristics of simple structure, less error aspects, and so on. It is the one of high-precision gear testers, which provided with high accuracy for ultra-precision master gear's tooth profile. According to the demand of the fund, this paper has designed and made a new measuring bench of the Double-Disc Measuring Apparatus of Involute Tooth Profile. This equipment consists a measuring bench of microphonics-bevel with high sensitivity. So it can adjust the measuring head steadily and precise ,when the Double-Disc Measuring Apparatus of Involute Tooth Profile measuring the involute tooth profile error and tooth alignment error. Thus it can ensure that the measuring head and track surface are on the same plane. Finally, the actual measuring proves that this part can meet overall requirement of the instrument.This paper describes the feasibility of the The Transmission lever of no hysteresis error in instrument from the experiment and theory. The sensitivity and sphere of application is summarized. In the meantime, the paper also computes three various involutes occured when the measuring head at different places, analyzes the degree of test result affected by these facts. Moreover this paper introduces three kinds of methods of the tip adjustment on the Double-disc Measuring Apparatus of Involute Tooth Profile and make a test comparisons in the reality.In addition ,this paper carries on error analysis and laboratory measurement in detail on the error source which is more influenced the instrument's measuring result. These error source includes the diameter error and the synthesis eccentricity error of Basic Circle Plate, the disalignment error on the central spindle, the error in setting-up both measuring head and jig, the stretch creep error occurred when Basic Circle Plate is moving, the eccentricity error when the gear is set up, and so on. These works lay the foundation of the next tasks such as the evaluation of uncertainty and error compensation.
