China is the great textile production country, which has the very important status in the world textile industry. It is very indispensable to strengthen monitoring and control of the loom production and collect well and truly various operation data of the production in order to enhance the production efficiency of the loom and lighten the labor intensity of the workers. The problem of developing the display terminal for the loom is just produced under this background. The display terminal for the loom developed based on the ARM9 microprocessor and the Windows CE operating system has not only been seasoned with the trend of the loom control automatization, but also satisfied the requirements of the management modernization in the textile industry.In this paper a new type display terminal for the loom is researched and implemented. Compared with traditional display terminal for the loom based on the single chip microcomputer or the industrial computer, this display terminal for the loom has the prominent advantages such as friendly interfaces, easy operations, highly integrated system, high performance/price ratio, ascendant performance and strong ability for market competition.In this paper the work is opened out toward the display terminal for the loom. The background and the meaning about the development of the display terminal for the loom are introduced. The tasks concerning the development of the display terminal for the loom are instituted according to requires of the display terminal for the loom. The hardware platform of the display terminal for the loom is constructed, which includes the S3C2410X microprocessor interface for main control, the CAN bus interface, the keyboard interface and so on. The Windows CE .NET 4.2 operating system according with the hardware needs is customized with the Platform Builder 4.2 development tool.In the application development of the display terminal for the loom, the Embedded Visual C++ 4.0 development tool is adopted and the modules of the CAN receiving and transmitting, the data saving, the parameter setting, the flower type editing, and the data statistic are implemented.The SDK tool is used for simulating the operating system so that it is convenient to debug the application. In this paper the SDK tool is exported with the Platform Builder 4.2 and installed in the PC machine. Then in the SDK tool the application of the display terminal for the loom is run and debugged.Finally the entire development work of the display terminal for the loom is summarized and the expectation is put forward in allusion to the display terminal for the loom.
