The Study Of Modeling And Structure Checking System For Jacket Design

Jacket is one of the main ocean engineering structures in oil development at the sea, good or bad design will influence the safety of the operators and the economic benefit of the whole project directly. Currently, there are some jackets arrives their service time already and they will be decommissioning and removed according to relevant international conventions and local laws. In order to ensure the project made a good play, the structure needed to be calculated and checking during the design, application and decommissioning.Nowadays, we often use ANSYS to do the simulation analysis in the structure checking of jackets. However, as general finite element soft, ANSYS do not very in specialized field, so it requests the engineers are familiar with the knowledge of mechanics and finite element and also have some experiences in the projects. And more, the structure of jacket and applied loads have many specific characteristics. So, developing a specialized soft, which will be applied in structure analysis of jacket in the second-development environments provided by ANSYS, has become an urgent demand in ocean engineering.This paper will introduce how to apply VB which is the most popular programming language to ANSYS second-development, and form to an engineering analysis software which gathered fast modeling with parameter, solve, post treatment, stability checking, tubular joint checking, jacket decommissioning etc. During the process running of the software, the programming will use the parameters which be inputted in the friendly interface which made by VB or drew from the other CAD software's database such as SolidWorks's to set up a finite model and use ANSYS to calculate backstage. After calculation, it will return the file results and picture results to the database and the results can be interviewed from the windows of the software. Through the software testing, the results which calculated by the software are the same as which used ANSYS alone, and it's simple operating procedure and the short computing time welcomed by all conners.
