Wastewater of cyclohexane oxidation is a liquid product of cyclohexane oxidation process, it contains many quantity of adipic acid. To recovery the adipic acid from wastewater of cyclohexane oxidation by Baling Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, in this paper the synthesis of diethyl succinate, diethyl glutarate and diethyl adipate have been researched.Three carboxylates, namely, diethyl succinate, diethyl glutarate and diethyl adipate, were synthesized with sodium bisulfate as catalyst. The optimized reaction conditions were decided. The effects of the molar ratio of reactant, amount of catalyst and reaction time on the esterification of mixed acid, in which the mass ratio of adipic acid and succinic acid was 8:1, were investigated. The esterification process of mixed acid was optimized. The densities and viscosities were measured by a vibrating densimeter(model DA-505U) and a Ubbelohde suspended-level viscometer at atmospheric pressure for diethyl succinate + ethanol , diethyl succinate + cyclohexane. The temperature rang was from 298.15K to 343.15K. Densities and viscosities of solutions were used to calculate excess molar volumes and excess viscosities respectively with Redlich-Kister Eq.
