With the development of science and technology, precision and ultra-precision manufacturing technology becomes more and more important. And the ultra-precision machine tool plays a crucial role during the study and development process of precision and ultra-precision manufacturing technology. The accuracy of traditional ultra-precision machine tool depends on the precision of its components. However, it is difficult to heighten the precision by improving the components of the machine tools and eliminate the error during machining. The indispensable means to guarantee machining precision and achieve accurate cutting is to compensate the error during machining by using a micro-feeding mechanism which can accomplish accurate small-displacement of the cutter. So the research on micro-feeding stage plays a very significant part in improving machining precision of tools and surface quality of work piece.The micro-feeding mechanism researched in this dissertation is a key component to achieve micro-feeding for ultra-precision machine tool. This system actuated by electrostriction ceramic. At the beginning of this thesis, the basic characteristics of electrostriction ceramic actuator are tested based on experiments. And give out electrostriction ceramic's arrearage,gradual change,force deformation characteristic of experiment result, for the realization the accurate repair of error-compensation.The open-loop control system is designed for the micro-feeding system and the control software is programmed too. The micro-feeding system is tested by experiments. Finite Element Method (FEM) is applied to the analysis and to build of the model. Static analysis and dynamic analysis are performed. The stiffness and stress distribution of the micro-feeding system are obtained through static analysis. The first four modals and natural frequency of the micro-feeding system are obtained through dynamic analysis which includes modal analysis, transient analysis and harmonic analysis.To design the micro-feeding system for the experiment research, micro-feeding system's just degree and force deformation to as a result carried on the summary. Apply also use the micro-feeding system carried on the tool machine up of actual work piece process the experiment, pass to the tool machine oneself of error margin compensate and two times compensate of the end.With compensate of the micro-feeding system, make the work piece's margin accuracy error control in 5μm,rise the function of the work a surface of more obvious exaltation accuracy.
