Measurement Of Temperature And Relative Humidity Inside The Cocoon Drying Machine And Technics Study

As the first procedure of silk production, the cocoon drying is seasonal. During the process of cocoon drying, the water of the silkworm pupa and cocoon is vaporized and the sericin is denaturalized by heated, which is favorable for the following procedures. Therefore it is very important to select the right equipment and technics.The paper summarizes the characteristics and methods of cocoon drying, and the development of cocoon drying machines, also analyzes the influence factors of the cocoon drying. The temperature and humidity inside of the cocoon drying machines are measured in the two main cocoon producing areas by the facilities made by our laboratory. Based on the cocoon drying theory and the known technics, the measured data is well analyzed.The temperature and humidity of cocoon drying tested in partial areas of Jiangsu and Guangxi are analyzed from four aspects. Firstly, the technics differences of traditional cocoon drying machines between Jiangsu and Guangxi are discussed. Secondly, the differences of temperature and humidity between the traditional drying machines and the air-heated cocoon drying machines are analyzed. Furthermore, the advantages and the disadvantages of various air-heated cocoon drying machines are studied from circulation of air. Lastly, some problems about of our country are found by comparing with Japan's.The result indicates, there are serious problems on cocoon drying technics of traditional drying machines and air-heated cocoon drying machines of Guangxi, and it needs to be improved from the drying equipment, the technics and the management. Besides, the technics should be suitable to the different cocoon drying machines and the different methods so as to improve the quality of cocoon drying.
