Phase relations in the Ho-Mn-Ti ternary system at 773K have been investigated mainly by X-ray powder diffraction with the aid of differential thermal analysis in this work. The existence of eight binary compounds HoMn2, Ho6Mn23, HoMn12, Mn5Ti, Mn2Ti,βMnTi,αMnTi and Mn15Ti85 has been confirmed in this system. At 773K, the maximum solid solubility of Ti in Mn is about 8at%Ti. The homogeneity range of Mn2Ti extends from about 61at% to 69at% Mn. The maximum solid solubility of Ho in Mn2Ti phase is about less than 1at.% Ho. The existence of solid solubility of other phases was observed. No ternary compounds were found in this ternary system. At 773 K, the isothermal section of phase diagram consists of eleven single-phase regions, nineteen two-phase regions and ten three-phase regions.
