Coal resource of our nation is extremely abundant, coal production and consumption are in leading positions in the world, it accounts for 85% of total production and consumption of domestic primary energy. Coal seam spontaneous combustion is becoming one of main factors that decline safe production and development of productive and efficient coal mine. As development of modern technology and deeper research on coal spontaneous combustion,every kinds of coal fire prevention and extinguishment measures develops. CO2 is one of widely applied way sin coal mine fire prevention and extinguishing and performs well.Based on analysis to current mechanism of coal spontaneous combustion and fire prevention and extinguishment techniques, adopting oil-bath temperature programming experiment and gas chromatography, paper analyzes CO2's inhibitory performance to spontaneous combustion of Tingnan coal sample.Paper improves oil—bath temperature programming experiment and designs the test tube then proves the accuracy,stability and reliability of this system are superior to traditional temperature programming experiment system through temperature increasing rate test experiment. Spontaneous combustion characters parameters test of Tingnan coal sample under pure air condition is conducted by using this experiment system in order to offer comparison standard for further research. Furthermore,temperature programming to Tingnan coal sample is conducted in oil-bath under different concentration of CO2 condition. Relevant testing results are compared with the concentration of CO,O2,temperature value,CO generation rate and O2 consumption rate tested in previous experiment under pure air condition. Furthermore, proportion between concentration of CO and O2,CO concentration and temperature,CO generation rate and O2 consumption rate are carried out to eliminate obstructions from certain external factors such as CO2 fills in and investigates the influences of CO2 under different concentration to coal oxidation and spontaneous combustion. Results indicates that above 100℃, more than 30% of CO2'inhibition to coal oxidation and CO generation is obvious under the experimental conditions.Finally,CO2 is used in spontaneous combustion prevention in 106 workface of Tingnan coal mine,the monitoring to CO and O2.indicates that CO2 performs well in inhibiting coal oxidation and spontaneous combustion.Research of this paper provides relevant fundamental data for further study on CO2 coal mine fire prevention and extinguishment mechanism and provides theoretical reference for development and application of O2.fire prevention and extinguishment technology.
