Tahe oil field has been exploited into a large-scale oil field since 1996, surface facilities has been close to maturity. It is difficult to exploit Tahe oil field owning to bad natural condition in Taklimakan desert, high viscosity of crude oil and high salinity of produced water. Study on optimization of Tahe oil field surface system was carried on in order to exploit Tahe oil field effectively and economically and reduce operating cost. Hydraulic and thermal computation model of both inside and outside processing station of surface system in Tahe oilfield was established as well as analysis model of energy consumption, energy flow and energy consumption distribution. Evaluation for process of well, transition measuring station and multi-purpose station was completed. By evaluation of process considering both economical efficiency and processing capacity of facilities, critical factors that influence processing capacity and efficiency of surface system was discovered. Boundary condition of three transportations include heating, diluting oil blending, water blending were at lowest energy consumption. Optimization analysis is made for single-phase transportation and multi-phase transportation as well, to review their applicability and relative merits. Advantages and disadvantages of different processing method for heavy oil and selection of key parameters were presented, that is important to improve the management of gathering and transportation system in order to exploit Tahe oil field effectively and economically.
