Comprehensive Evaluation On Sustainable Development Of Shijiazhuang City

Urban development is rather a complicated process that involves elements in economic, social, population, resources, environmental and other respects. Sustainable development is the development in which the city's economy, society, population, and environment are coordinated. That is, in a certain scale, a modest population, high-quality workforce, qualified economic growth, reasonable industrial structure, clean or alternative environment, high inputs of the construction funds, sustainable use of resources and so on are combined to achieve a high degree of development of urbanization and modernization, so as to meet the practical needs of contemporary urban development and the development of future urban. If we want to know whether the city's development is sustainable or not, and the degree of sustainable development, it is necessary to evaluate this process. This is also the purpose of this study.Shijiazhuang City is currently at a crucial stage of development. Evaluating the sustainable development of Shijiazhuang is the need to reflect the extent and current status of sustainable development in Shijiazhuang, to correctly monitor and distinguish the progress of sustainable development in Shijiazhuang, to scientifically standardize the direction and the motion of sustainable development of Shijiazhuang, and to provide scientific suggestions for the government to make decision.The main object of this article is to achieve the sustainable development of Shijiazhuang. This system comprises four subsystems. We have researched on economics, environment, society and population, and set up an index system. Then we give some suggestions to the government.By Hierarchical cluster analysis and Factor analysis, eventually the article chose 53 indexes and compressed them into 17, then abstracted three factors from them to describe the sustainable development level of Shijiazhuang. Then the article compared the conditions of Shijiazhuang for the last five years. It provides some ideas of development for Shijiazhuang in the end.
