Recently, with the fast development of petrochemical industry, and the increasing demand of dangerous chemicals transportation in lough area, the probability of dangerous chemicals accident on waterway is going up. The leakage of dangerous chemicals causes imponderable losses to the ecological environment in the water areas. Therefore, it is particularly important to set up and improve the emergency response system of dangerous chemicals leakage accident. Now it is a critical and difficult technical point to establish suitable tidal current model, migration and diffusion model, and then forecast the action of leakage dangerous chemicals accurately. This paper aims to study the model which can forecast the migration and diffusion trend of leakage dangerous chemicals in Nantong Harbor for the first time, in order to provide a theoretical basis and technological support to the chemicaid emergency and forecast of dangerous chemicals leakage accident in Nantong Harbor. The main research work and conclusion are as follows:(1) With the influence of tide in Nantong Harbor, it selects depth-averaged 2-D numerical model to simulate the tidal currents. And on this condition, it uses Lagrangian water paticle tracking model to simulate the path. And this path is used to calibrate and validate the tidal current model.(2) It does the Lagrange flow track test in the waterarea where the navigation environment is dangerous and has so many ships. It combines the local test and numerical simulation. With the test, people can see the tracking path of insoluble chemicals after leaking, so that it provides the dates to numerical simulation.(3) It uses Lagrangian path model to work out the migration trend of leakage dangerous insoluble chemical, and establishes the diffusion numerical model of soluble chemicals to study the transport and diffusion process and the concentration distribution after soluble chemicals leaked, consequently provides theoretical basises for accidents emergency response work.(4) Regarding ArcGIS as the platform, MapObiects2.3 as secondary development software, and using visual studio 2005 (C #) to programme, it sets up visualization system to represent the dynamic transport and diffusion trend of leakage dangerous chemicals in Nantong Harbor, and provide the dynamic information for the chemicaid emergency. The results of study will directly serve to the emergency response system of dangerous chemicals leakage accident in Nantong Harbor, and provide theoretical basis and technological support to chemicaid emergency decision-making, choice of removing means, and assessment of damage.
