| With the rapid development of market globalization, the requirement of the market for the manufacture system which for low-volume manufacture, good flexibility and multifunction became more universal then the large-sized manufacture system's which had simple function. This tendency bring on a new conception named Open CNC System. It means a modular, reconfigurable and expandable control system.This thesis introduces the status of research in the Open CNC System field, the need of researching and exploiting open CNC system is brought. According to the most popular open CNC architecture—OSACA, someimportant technologies are studied and discussed, including the structure of software used in Open NC system based on the motion controller, the function of the each module, the relation between each other and so on. CNC system software configuration based on multiaxes and multichannels controller is exploitated by object-oriented programme language and character of multi-thread parallelism processing in the environment of Windows. Software module is divided and designed functionly by ideology of software engineering, and multi-blocking expandable software platform is established. Many modules are designed, such as Main interface module,parameter setting module, soft-PLC module, NC module, status display module in the paper. each module communicate by the normal interface and build up the system. It can deal with coding interpretation, interpolation, system management and servo control simultaneity. The function modules can be added or deleted if some adjustments want be done to the system, which shows the opening and flexibility of the system.The CNC system is used in the numerical renovation of Milling Machine in order to research the system. Not only the CNC system based on IPC and motion controller shortens the exploitive cycle, achieving resource rational configuration, but also the CNC developer and customer can bring their technologies, experiences and skills into the open CNC system.
