With the rapid development of mechanical manufacturing in China, shaft parts (splines, threads) with high strength and high precision are increasingly demanded. Manufacturing shaft parts through the non-cutting cold rolling forming technology, with its advantages of high productivity, good continuity of metal wool in tooth face, high strength and better wear resisting property of tooth face, is attracting more and more attention and widely used in the manufacture. However, researches on the techniques and theories of precise cold rolling forming are relatively fewer, software systems are under no development and tests relying experience are used in manufacture, which cost a lot in human power, materials and time, thus the cold rolling process is to great extent restricted for further development and application.This paper, during analyzing the theories of spline and thread cold rolling processes, ruducted a practical and simple method of caculating rolling diameters of spline and thread blanks based on the theory that the volume doesn't change with the plastics deforming; model design method is proposed by researching corresponding theories base on engagement theory; threading roller design method is proposed by researching relevant theory based on that the helix angle of thread roller equals that of work tie; the calculating formula of rolling time is reducted based on cross-rolling theory; systematic and orderly rolling theories are concluded based on the former theories.The calculating program of the above theories is also achieved by using Visual Basic,MATLAB; models of roller parameters in cold rolling manufacturing of shaft parts are formed by redeveloping the software—UG; parameter numerical simulation of cold rolling manufacture is obtained by redeveloping the software—ANSYS. All the above are compressed into parameter revising and numerical simulation system of shaft parts cold rolling, which could realize the functions of theoretical calculation, roller design, numerical simulation and precessing parameters revising of rolling manufacture of shaft parts.The basic theories of forming process delt with in this paper can provide theoretical basis with parameter revising and numerical simulation system of forming of shaft parts cold rolling. Problems in manufacture could be predicted by this system; manufacture advice and revised processing parameter for practical production can be proposed and provided. The theories could be applied in production directly. The system makes it possible that computers guide manufacturing shaft parts through cold rolling and motivates the techniques of shaft parts manufacture develop greatly toward computer integration manufacture.
