Mine ventilation is an important part of the production of coal mine. A safe, reliable, economic, practical mine ventilation network analysis software is important to guarantee the safety in production of coal mine. At present, China's mine ventilation network analysis software development is not yet mature. Most of them develop it from the very bottom and have the defects such as long development cycle, high cost, singleness function and suit only for their own systems. This paper focus on practical applications, take the highly efficient and rapid, economic, practical as principles, research and develop the mine ventilation network analysis system based on COMGIS.Firstly, after analyzed the current mine ventilation network analysis software's development status quo and the advantages and disadvantages of various development methods, identified the development model that based on the COMGIS, researched the basic GIS technologies and the principles and methods of the mine ventilation network analysis. Using a fluid wind resistance model based on the empirical formula and the actual survey data to prepare the early data. In the ventilation network solution methods, the use of the re-election circuit strategy of the Scott-Hinsley method makes the speed of solution faster.Secondly, using a software engineering design idea as guidance to do the system's requirements analysis and integrated design. The system is divided into spatial data management, data processing, ventilation network analysis, query of the solution results, system data interface and help system six functional modules. And using the Visual Basic 6.0 and the Super Map Objects 5.2 as development platform to design and develop the system. The use of the "feedback topology" let the established topology more consistent with the actual situation and more suit for the network analysis. Using the "WYSIWYG" to input the raw data and you can click the tunnel directly to modify its attribute data, such as resistance and fixed air volume information. The use of the thematic maps which provided by the GIS tools make the mistake finding and result displaying more vivid and intuitionistic. In the end, take a coal mine as an example, analyses it's ventilation network system, the result show that the system is stable and reliable, simple operation, and meet the requirements of the accuracy of the coal mine. Practice has proved that the development of component-based GIS for the mine ventilation network analysis system have the development of low-cost, short development cycle, high-quality, well-functioning features. Resolved the current mine ventilation network analysis software development bottleneck problems and did some useful exploration on the mine ventilation network analysis software development methods.
