The Study On The Hand Evaluation And Structual Performance Of Suede-like Fabrics

With the improvemenr of the requirements on clothes, favorable style of the fabric has been the aim for faric designing. As a result, hand evaluation became more and more important in the fabric research and designing. This paper took suede-like fabircs as an investigation,and analyzed their structure property and style.In this study, we selected 20 suede-like Fabrics for investigation. First analyze the specification of the fabrics. 31 primary indexes are gained based on the FAST (Fabric Assurance by Simple Testing) and the crease-recovery testing instrument, the draping property testing instrument, the air permeability testing instrument. Apply the mathematics method of principal components of factors to figure out five components. They are stiffness and woolliness, waft deformation, full elastic, shrink, weft deformation. The score of each component is calculated with the theoretic equation, so we can rank the sample. Meanwhile, we could ascertain the average position and standard deviation, which can judge the superior of characteristics of the fabric. In the meantime, apply grey relational analysis to evaluate the hand of suede-like Fabrics. Analyze the effect of primary properties on the fabric hand and figure out the difference of fabric hand .The relationship between fabric construction and fabric characteristics is studied too.
